Triumph of Death is the second demo recording of the Swiss extreme metal band Hellhammer or their first official release. The songs on it and on the previous, unofficial recording, Death Fiend , were recorded on June 10th and 11th, 1983 in the Grave Hill Bunker , the band's rehearsal room, with a portable eight-track studio and by Tom Warrior and Rol Fuchs, the Owner of the studio, produces. Death Fiend was dropped and Triumph of Death was released instead . Triumph of Death became one of the most popular demo recordings in the metal underground.

style
Hellhammer's style of music moves between punk- heavy metal and doom metal pieces and is heavily inspired by Venom ; Tom Warrior himself referred to the band in their original form as a Venom clone. However, Hellhammer's music is raw and extreme.
