Trivia no Izumi ( Japanese ト リ ビ ア の 泉 , Toribia no izumi , eng . "Source of Trivia ") is the most successful Japanese television show in recent years.

Origin and charisma

Initially launched in early 2003 as a low-budget nightly show , Trivia no Izumi has been running every Wednesday at golden time from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Japanese television station Fuji TV since autumn 2003 .

procedure

In the program, ten to twelve trivia that were sent in by viewers are presented in video clips . These are mostly unknown aspects of Japanese history , anecdotes about famous Japanese or questions about anime and other television series.

The entries are then rated by five studio guests with “surprise points”. The number of surprise points (maximum 100) multiplied by 100 yen is also the reward for the senders.

Trivia from the show that have to do with Germany

International trivia also occur. Here are some of the previous trivia that had to do with Germany:

  • The founders of the two international sports groups Adidas and Puma come from the same city and are brothers.
  • Oliver Kahn once scored a goal with his hand (which was not given).
  • The surname of Johann Sebastian Bach is translated into Japanese as Ogawa (a particularly common surname, comparable to Schmidt , while the German word "Bach" for Japanese is irrevocably linked to the composer).

International distribution

Under the title Hey! Spring of Trivia was broadcast from November 2004 to May 2005, 26 Japanese original episodes dubbed in English by the US cable broadcaster Spike TV . According to audience reports, however, additional gags tailored to the American audience were added.
