Trollinger-Lemberger

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Trollinger-Lemberger , sometimes also called Trollinger with Lemberger, Trola or TL, is a red wine that is produced as a cuvée , i.e. as a blend of wines from the two grape varieties Trollinger and Lemberger .

Both varieties are in Germany practically only in the wine-growing region Württemberg grown, so this blend is also available only there. The Trollinger is a light red wine with a more white wine- like , acidic taste, the Lemberger is added because of the darker color and because of the more typical red wine taste.

If the added variety is less than 15%, it does not have to be stated on the label . The first variety is more strongly represented (more than 50%). Since significantly more Trollinger than Lemberger are grown in southern Württemberg in particular, the Lemberger Trollinger, which contains more Lemberger than Trollinger, is less common.
