Consolation
The so-called consolation plaster is a double term from the field of psychology .
meaning
The main meaning is insufficient compensation or an allegedly highly paid job , which is only based on social inequalities .
In a figurative sense, it stands for reparation or satisfaction. The consolation plaster should, in the form of comforting words or small gifts, virtually replace the failure to achieve a desired goal and thus cover the "open wound" in a figurative sense.
