True Blue Crew

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The True Blue Crew (TBC) (German: Wahre Blaue Crew ) is a right-wing extremist and anti-Islamic group in Australia, which originated in Melton in the Australian state of Victoria .

This organization received worldwide attention because Brenton Tarrant , who carried out the terrorist attack on two mosques in Christchurch , New Zealand , left more than 30 comments on the Facebook pages of the TBC and the right-wing United Patriots Front . The Facebook page has since been deleted.

founding

Some of the members of the TBC were already involved in 2014 against the building of a community center and a mosque for Muslims in Bendigo . TBC was formed as a group in 2015 when it split off from right-wing extremist Reclaim Australia . Together with other Australian ultra-right groups, their claim is to defend their - as it is formulated - white, Anglo-Saxon heritage against certain groups such as Muslims, Jews or Australian aborigines .

Actions

Together with the right-wing extremist organizations United Patriots Front and the Love Australia or Leave Party , TBC leader Kane Miller organized a demonstration in Melton in May 2016 against the construction of the Muslim center in Bendigo . At another such demonstration in August 2016, violent arguments broke out between members of the TBC and the right-wing radical Sons of Odin ( Sons of Odin ) about the route of the demonstration .

Phillip Galea, a member of the TBC, was arrested after being found on records of terrorist attacks. A police investigation found that Galea had ties to Reclaim Australia, United Patriots Front , Patriots Defense League Australia and a right-wing group called "Combat 18".

In January 2019, Sander Channel 7 news reported that the United Patriots Front and TBC had organized patrols that were watching young African men.
