Truly Madly Deeply is a 1997 Savage Garden song , written by the band and produced by Charles Fisher. It appeared on the album Savage Garden and was used as the soundtrack to the film Love at First Cry .

history

The recordings took place in 1995 and 1996, the original title being Magic Kisses . Two versions of the song were created; a drum computer-heavy and an acoustic version, the latter came out as a single.

The pop , adult contemporary and soft rock song was released on March 3, 1997. Truly Madly Deeply was a number one hit in the United States, Canada, Australia and Italy.

Music video

Two videos were shot for the song. In the first, Darren Hayes had longer hair and was sitting on a red sofa in a white room, while Daniel Jones played the song on a piano in front of several people in the room. The second and best-known video was shot in Paris and directed by Adolfo Doring. In the plot of the second video, a loving couple was separated by circumstances in the past and is now looking for each other. At the beginning of the clip, the woman gets off at the Paris-Nord train station and looks for her lover who is waiting for her. It is located in the Montmartre area . Darren Hayes walks around the Place de la Concorde and the Jardin des Tuileries . He sings the song in the video and thus plays the narrator. Towards the end of the video, Hayes finds himself in a concert hall with Daniel Jones playing a guitar, and in the center of town the lovers find themselves again.
