TrustedBSD

TrustedBSD is a project to enhance the security of the FreeBSD operating system . It was founded by Robert Watson (computer scientist) to implement the Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation and Trusted Computer System Evaluation Criteria . In particular, it is about providing fine-grained security functions such as access control lists and audits . The TrustedBSD framework has found its way into a number of operating systems, including Mac OS X , Apple iOS, and JunOS .

The project is sponsored by a number of well-known organizations, including government agencies such as DARPA and NSA and companies such as Google and Apple .
