Chalipa

The Chalipa ( Persian چلیپا Tschalipa , [ t͡ʃælipɑ ]) is a writing frame in the Nastaliq script. Two important textframesin Nastaliq calligraphy are Chalipa and Siahmashgh. Chalipa means "cross" in Persian . The chalipa frame usually consists of four diagonal half-verses of a poem that clearly has a moral, ethical, and poetic theme.
