Üschqongyr ( Kazakh Үшқоңыр ; Russian spelling Ушконыр Uschkonyr ) is a village with 14,294 inhabitants (2009) in the northwest of the Almaty region in Kazakhstan .

It belongs to the Qarassai audany ( Karassaiski rajon ). Until the 2000s, the place was called Shamalghan (Kazakh Шамалған ) or Shamalgan (Russian Шамалган ), previously also in the spelling Chemolgan (Russian Чемолган ).
