Tsenshab Serkong Rinpoche

Tsenshab Serkong Rinpoche (* 1914 ; † 1983 ) was a monk and scholar of the Gelug School of Tibetan Buddhism . As a child he became a novice in Ganden Monastery . He completed his studies at the “Changtse Dratshang” faculty there with the title “Geshe Lharampa”, the highest of the Geshe grades. Tsenshab Serkong Rinpoche had numerous students, including Alexander Berzin . At the age of 34 he became Tsenshab ("assistant tutor") of the 14th Dalai Lama .

Tsenshab Serkong Rinpoche served the makers of the film Star Wars as a model for the character of Yoda .
