The Tudjuh Archipelago ( Indonesian Kepulauan Tudjuh ) are an Indonesian group of islands in the South China Sea .

geography

The Tudjuh Archipelago is located between the Malay Peninsula and the island of Kalimantan (Borneo). They consist of the Anambas , Natuna , Tambelan and Badas Islands . The Subi, Sejang and Seresan Islands also belong to the archipelago.

The islands belong to the administrative district ( Indonesian Kabupaten ) Bintan (Province of Riau Islands ).

The People's Republic of China recognizes Indonesia's sovereignty over the Natuna Islands, but does not accept the exclusive economic zone and invokes “traditional Chinese fishing grounds”, which, however, has no meaning under international law.
