Tullio Piacentini (born August 1, 1919 in Rome , † January 22, 2005 in Annemasse ) was an Italian film distributor, film director and screenwriter .

Life

After the Second World War, Piacentini stood out as an ambitious film distributor who brought numerous important works from Eastern European cinema to Italian cinemas. Until the 1960s he held the screening rights for numerous interesting domestic and European film projects. He was one of the largest distributors in central Italy who eventually merged his company with Giovanni Amatis . In 1965 he made three music films based on his own templates, in which numerous well-known performers appeared, whose scenes were interrupted by animated sequences - in reality he had assembled the recordings in such a way that he could bring three feature-length episodes to the cinemas. He is therefore considered to be one of the pioneers of the music video clip.
