Turbomeca Artouste

The Turbomeca Artouste is a shaft gas turbine from the French manufacturer Turbomeca . The main customer was the Aérospatiale company , which installed the engines in helicopters . A reduction gear with a reduction ratio of around 6: 1 is flanged directly to the engine.

These engine variants were built into the Aérospatiale Alouette II ; the first series-built helicopter powered by a shaft power turbine. The Artouste II was certified on May 2, 1957 and 1445 were built by 1964. It was also produced under license in the UK by Bristol Siddeley and in India by HAL .

Artouste III B

Turbomeca Artouste IIIB

Version III B drives the helicopters Aérospatiale SA-315 "Lama" and Aérospatiale SA-319 "Alouette III". It was certified on December 15, 1961. This engine is still installed today.
