Turbulence (actually: Sheldon Campbell ; born January 11, 1980 in Kingston (Jamaica) ) is a Jamaican dancehall - deejay .

Career

Turbulence was discovered by Philip "Fattis" Burrell , the owner of the Xterminator label and at the time manager of Sizzla Kalonji. Turbulence made his first record, Think of Peace , in 1999 with Burrell as producer. He was initially decried as a Sizzla imitator due to the similarity of their voices. Turbulence quickly found its own style. He accompanied his role model Sizzla as an opening act on his Real Thing Tour, gained experience and began to gain reputation with the audience. At the Sting Festival 2005 he performed in front of a large audience. The Rasta Turbulence campaigns against racial discrimination in his songs, as well as for the belief in Rastafari and - based on Marcus Garvey - for repatriation , i.e. the return to Africa.
