Turi Schellenberg

Turi Schellenberg (* 11. January 1940 as Arthur Schellenberg in Zurich ) is a Swiss double bass player .

Musical career

Turi Schellenberg attended the arts and crafts school in Zurich and then completed an apprenticeship as a gravure retoucheur and studied double bass. From 1965 to 1972 he played in the Tonhalle and Opera House Orchestra in Zurich and then as a professional musician in various orchestras. He worked for five years as a double bass player in the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie in Konstanz. In 1974 he founded the Trio Turi Schellenberg . He and his teammate Ueli Mooser sometimes use the bass violin as a melody instrument. Turi Schellenberg's musical focus is the landlord . His solos on the bass violin are well known.
