Turkish Airlines flight 158 was a scheduled flight from the Istanbul-Yeşilköy airport (from 1985 Ataturk airport ) in Istanbul to Ankara, operated by the company still operated under the name Türk Hava Yollari (THY) . On January 16, 1983, the Boeing 727-200 had an accident while approaching Ankara Airport , killing 47 passengers.
Flight history
The Boeing landed in Ankara at about 10:30 p.m. local time in a snowstorm 50 meters from the runway and caught fire. 47 passengers were killed. 13 passengers and the 7 crew members survived the accident.
