The gymnastics center Dornbirn (TSZ Dornbirn) was founded immediately after the 13th World Gymnaestrada 2007 in Dornbirn . The association, which is run on a voluntary basis, is one of the youngest associations within the Vorarlberger Turnerschaft VTS and combines exercise for children, adults and seniors, gymnastics from popular sports to top-class sports, acrobatic performances and social events. In the youth sector , the focus is on artistic gymnastics , the Austrian popular gymnastics program “ Turn10 ” and team gymnastics , in the adult area aerobics , step aerobics, Power-VIT, salsa , Pilates and yoga. Since October 2019, exhibition hall 5 with 1500 m² for general gymnastics, artistic gymnastics and team gymnastics has been a state-of-the-art training facility for the Dornbirn gymnastics center .

In 2019 the association has a total of 700 members, 450 of whom are looked after in gymnastics groups, and another 150 people take part in fitness programs for adults.

The gymnastics center Dornbirn understands gymnastics as a basic sport.

In addition to its sporting successes, the Dornbirn gymnastics center has gained importance through the organization of two state youth gymnastics festivals, the largest popular sports event in Vorarlberg, as well as national and international competitions. The gymnastics center in Dornbirn took part in the World Gymnaestrada 2011 in Lausanne, 2015 in Helsinki and 2019 in Dornbirn, as well as the World Gym for Life Challenge in Cape Town .

Events

The gymnastics center in Dornbirn was the organizer of various national and international competitions:

  • International TeamGym Cup 2009–2019
  • State youth gymnastics festivals 2008 and 2009

The highlight was the support of 800 participants at the World Gymnaestrada 2007 and 2019 in Dornbirn and the simultaneous participation of a gymnastics group.

A large group took part in the World Gymnaestrada in Lausanne in 2011 and in Helsinki in 2015. To promote gymnastics, gymnastics events are organized in public places, such as in summer 2011 in the inatura park of the city of Dornbirn with "TIN - Gymnastics iNatura": acrobatic performances followed by live music. The gymnastics group received a silver medal for the acrobatic presentation at the World Gym For Life Challenge in Cape Town.

Team gymnastics

In addition to artistic gymnastics, the team gymnastics from Scandinavia is practiced. In this discipline, the women's elite team is eight-time national champions, most recently in 2018 as well as participating in the European Championship in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018 in Odivelas- Portugal.
