The Turpie Point is a headland on the north coast of South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It marks the eastern limit of the entrance to Hercules Bay . In front of it is the Turpie Rock .

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2013 based on the name of the cliff of the same name. Its namesake is the freighter James Turpie of Southern Whaling & Sealing Co. Ltd., which sank near the whaling station Leith Harbor in 1946 .
