Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation is an Indian reservation , primarily in the US state of North Dakota is located and is considered the most widely-contiguous reserve in the United States.

Erected by Executive Order of the President of the United States on December 21, 1882 in the northern part of Rolette County , North Dakota, the reservation is primarily inhabited by members of the Anishinabe tribes. According to a census in 2010, 5,815 people lived in the actual reserve. A total of 8,331 residents were counted. The seat of the reserve government is in Belcourt.

The actual reservation has large off-reservation trust land areas in South Dakota and especially in Montana (a total of 175.04 km²) and borders Canada in the north . The total land area extends over 3 states in 15 different counties and has an area of ​​603.56 km².
