Twister (game)
Twister is a board game that consists of a two square meter plastic sheet with large colored dots (blue, red, green, yellow) and a turntable. The blanket is spread out on the floor for playing, the turntable is laid out. The number of players is arbitrary, but for reasons of space it should not exceed four.
Manufacturers and distributors
The Milton Bradley Company (MB) first released the game in the United States in 1966 . Since Hasbro took over MB , the Twister has been distributed by the games company Hasbro in the MB games series . In 2005, the company brought out the game Party Twister , which had no changes in the rules and which was designed for young people. The only new features are a carrying bag and a turntable that can also be used as a frisbee .
regulate
The turntable is initially divided into quarters, each quarter standing for a body part:
- Left foot
- Right foot
- Left hand
- right hand
These quarters are each subdivided into the colors of the points on the ceiling.
Once rotated, the turntable will show a combination of color and body part. The other participants now try to place the designated part of the body on a free point of the corresponding color on the blanket. The game ends as soon as a player falls over or does not reach a suitable point.
Twister is usually played barefoot to ensure a better grip and not unnecessarily wear the blanket. It can also be agreed that a player may temporarily lift a part of the body that has already been parked so that another can better reach a target point.
In a newer version of the game the turntable has been expanded by 2 more segments for each extremity, these stand for the actions "Totally crazy" (the person who turns the disc thinks up a "totally crazy" movement) or "Air" (the part of the body called out is stretched in the air).

The game is aimed primarily at children, as it trains the sense of balance and promotes body coordination. In addition to pure fun, the game also offers adolescents and adults an erotic aspect, as there are numerous physical contacts between the players during the course of the game . If a player falls over, he or she may be punished with a deposit or a task .
