Twizzlers is a licorice-like candy made by the Hershey Company and has been produced in a variety of flavors since 1845. The varieties strawberry, rainbow, watermelon, orange, lemon, grape and blackberry are popular.

history

The National Licorice Company , one of the oldest confectionary manufacturers in the United States , introduced the Twizzler brand in 1929 . The company changed its name to Y&S Candies Inc. in 1968 and was acquired by the Hershey Company in 1977.

Since 1999, Twizzlers have also been made in Memphis, Tennessee , where other candies and chewing gum are also made. Before 1999 these were mainly manufactured in Farmington, New Mexico , which, however, caused high transport costs.

Twizzlers Twisted Berry Flavor

The original taste has been liquorice since 1845. In the late 1970s, the company began experimenting with different varieties. This resulted in new flavors such as strawberry, cherry, watermelon and chocolate in different colors, shapes and sizes. In the 2000s, many other product variations followed, such as Pull 'n' Peel , Twerpz , Strawz and other flavors.

All Twizzler products are made kosher and are vegan. They do not contain animal gelatine or other animal ingredients.
