The Tychy Falcons are a Polish American football club from the Silesian city of Tychy .

history

The club, whose first men's team is also called Sokoły ( Polish for falcon ), was founded in 2008 by Paweł Chwedczuk and Arkadiusz Wojtasik. 13 people took part in the first training session of the new club. The first friendly matches under real conditions were held from 2010; first opponent were the Częstochowa Saints , who could be defeated with 14:13. After a change in the board in 2011, the entire club was structurally rebuilt under the leadership of Łukasz Pawęzka and Jacek Kozub. In addition to the establishment of a competitive sports-oriented men's team, a youth department was set up under the direction of Aksel Kocyła. In addition, the club joined the Polish American Football Association PZFA .

In 2011 they took part for the first time in the national league operation of the PZFA. The first competitive game took place against the Ruda Śląska Warriors , but they lost 25:10. In the following year, they participated in the third-class PLFA II, in which they made it into the play-off phase. In the end, the club won the final against the Lublin Titans with 42: 0 and thus secured the league championship. Thanks to the championship success, they were promoted to the second-class PLFA I in 2013. The club's third season was also successful and once again made it into the play-off phase. In the end, however, the Tychy Falcons failed in the semifinals against the Białystok Lowlanders with 21:14 and were eliminated.

The first men's team of the Tychy Falcons is currently playing in PLFA I and qualified again for the play-off phase in 2015. The club operates its own training ground under the name Falcons Field, including a playing field with professional equipment and original American football goals, which is subsidized by the city of Tychy. There are currently around 60 players in the Rooster. At particularly prestigious games, the club competes in the municipal stadium with more than 15,000 seats.
