The Bülbülvanga ( Tylas eduardi ) is a passerine bird in the family of the Vangawurger (Vangidae).
features
The Bülbülvanga is a 20–21 cm medium-sized and 35–54 g heavy, slim-looking Vangawang with a narrow, black beak. The top is olive-brown, the bottom ocher-colored, the legs are dark. The head, throat and neck are black with a narrow white collar. There is a variant with white on the chest and stomach.

Bulbülvangas usually appear in mixed swarms of "mixed flocks" and feed on insects , butterflies , caterpillars and dragonflies . It breeds between October and January in the east, possibly between August and September in western Madagascar. The bird is monogamous and breeds as a pair, the male takes over the territorial defense.
distribution and habitat
The Bülbülvanga belongs to the monotypic genus Tylas and is endemic to Madagascar . It can be found in the tropical and subtropical rainforest up to about 1600 m.
The following subspecies can be distinguished:
- T. e. albigularis Hartlaub , circumscribed in the west of the country in 1877 with white on the throat, chin and ear covers.
- T. e. eduardi Hartlaub , 1862, nominate form in eastern Madagascar.
Hazardous situation
The stock is considered a least concern (not endangered).
