Typhoon is a ride model from the manufacturer Soriani & Moser . It represents a further development of the Tornado Adventure ride . The ride premiered on June 23, 1995 under the direction of Erich Avi from Wels at the Danube Island Festival in Vienna . The Typhoon works with five motors, one for rotating the entire system, two for lifting the two planet gears and two for rotating these gears. These can be rotated in both directions and there are five four-seater gondolas each, which are either stationary thanks to a special brake system or can rotate around their own axis. This means that outside and inside loops are possible when the arms are raised.
