Tyrode solution

The Tyrode solution is a solution of electrolytes in physiological composition in water. The name goes back to the American pharmacologist Maurice Vejux Tyrode (1878–1930).

The pH of the solution is 6.6.

use

The Tyrode solution is used as a diluent in cell and tissue culture. In veterinary medicine, it can be used as a drinking water substitute for kidney diseases , for example in budgies.

The Tyrode solution can be stored in the refrigerator for three to four days.
