Tytania

Tytania ( Japanese タ イ タ ニ ア Taitania ) is a space opera by the Japanese author Yoshiki Tanaka .

The novel was published in three volumes by Tokuma Shoten in 1988 , but ended after the third volume. It was later republished by Square Enix in the Ex Novels series . It was also published in a new version in September 2009 in connection with an anime adaptation of the novel by Kōdansha . In Shōnen-Sirius , a manga version was released from the May issue in 2008 . The TV anime ran from October 2008 to March 2009 on NHK-BS2 . It has since been broadcast on NHK General TV .

In March 2009, Yoshiki Tanaka appeared in the Eisei anime Gekijō and announced a sequel to the story.

Mankind, spread across the great universe, has established a large number of interstellar states, but most of them are essentially under the rule of the Tytania family. In the year 446 of the star calendar, the space city-state Euriya (??) suffers an attack from Tytania due to problems regarding its rights and interests, but unexpectedly it pushes back this attack. The people who are not friendly to Tytania's rule set in motion and finally Tytania's internal disputes become entangled and the galaxy gets into a time of violent tremors.

The anime was aired from October 2008 to March 2009 on the program Eisei Anime Gekijō by NHK-BS2. It comprises a total of 26 episodes based on the first two volumes of the novel. After that, the anime aired on NHK General TV.

The director Noboru Ishiguro writes in the afterword of the first volume of the Kōdansha edition that he was against an anime film adaptation of an incomplete original work, but announced that he would like to make another anime film adaptation if the novel was completed.
