Yoshiki Tanaka
Yoshiki Tanaka ( Japanese 田中 芳 樹 , Tanaka Yoshiki , real name 田中 美 樹 Tanaka Yoshiki ; born October 22, 1952 in Hondo , Kumamoto ) is a Japanese writer. Tanaka studied Japanese language and literature at Gakushūin University and later received his doctorate there.
His best known works are the fantasy novel series Arslan Senki , also known as The Heroic Legend of Arslan , the Space Opera series Ginga Eiyū Densetsu , also known as Legend of the Galactic Heroes , and Sōryūden , also known as Sohryuden: Legend of the Dragon Kings . All of these series were both adapted as anime and implemented as manga .

- Ginga Eiyū Densetsu ( 銀河 英雄 伝 説 ; 1982–1987, comprises 10 volumes plus 4 volumes with side stories and 5 short stories)
- Arslan Senki ( ア ル ス ラ ー ン 戦 記 ; Part 1 1986–1990, Part 2 1991–2017, comprises a total of 16 volumes)
- Sōryūden ( 創 竜 伝 ; 1987 - not yet completed, currently comprises 13 volumes)
