Hondo ( Japanese 本 渡 市 , Hondo-shi ) was a city in the Japanese prefecture of Kumamoto .

history

Hondo was founded on April 1, 1954.

In March 2006, by merging Hondo with the city of Ushibuka and eight other communities, the city of Amakusa was created .
