The station at the old ski jumps is in shell high station located Vienna Underground line U2 in the 22nd district Donaustadt between stations Aspernstraße and Hausfeldstraße . The shell was already completed in 2013, as part of the extension of the U2 to Seestadt , because the intention was to keep the disruption to the underground service to a minimum for a later construction of the station. At this point there was still no need.

In January 2020, Wiener Linien put the station to tender. In the urban development area between Aspernstrasse and Hausfeldstrasse, thousands of new apartments are to be built in the following years. With the move into the first residential units from 2024 , the station at An den alten Schanzen should also be completed.
