UD Villa de Santa Brígida is a Spanish football club from Santa Brígida , Gran Canaria .
history
The club was created in 2004 through the merger of the two historic Canarian football teams Sociedad Deportiva Santa Brígida and Club Deportivo Villa de Santa Brígida . The club began playing in the Tercera División , the fourth-highest division in Spanish football. In the 2006/07 season, the club made it to the Segunda División B in the promotion playoffs , in which he beat Gimnástica Segoviana and Real Murcia B. The following season the club was sixteenth in the Segunda División B and had to be relegated . There the club was able to prevail on penalties against CD Baza . In the 2008/09 season, the club rose from bottom of the table again in the Tercera División, in which he has been playing since then. In 2016/17 the club took part in the first round of the Copa del Rey .
Stadion
The Estadio Municipal del Guiniguada seats 1,100 spectators and is home to UD Villa de Santa Brígida. After the stadium was extensively rebuilt in the 2007/08 season, the club has played in the Los Olivos stadium since the 2010/11 season .
