The special procedures (Engl. Special Procedures ) are a mechanism of the UN Human Rights Council . To this end, individuals or groups to Special Rapporteurs (cf.. List of UN special rapporteurs ), working groups (s: working groups ) or independent expert (s: independent experts ) appointed. Depending on the mandate, a distinction is made between geographic (country-specific) and thematic special procedures. The working methods of the special rapporteurs also include field missions and public reports on the human rights situation in the individual states or regions.
