UNISIG

The UNISIG ( Un ion I ndustry of Sig nalling ) is a working group of the rail industry association UNIFE . It was founded in 1998 with the aim of creating the specifications for ERTMS / ETCS . The ERTMS / ETCS specifications were published by UNISIG from 1999 to 2007, based on the system requirements specification SRS V.5.a created by the ERTMS Users Group and the functional requirements specification FRS V.2.

The following railway safety and signaling companies are full and founding members: Alstom , Ansaldo STS , Bombardier , Invensys , Siemens , Thales . AŽD Praha and CAF have been full members since 2014 . They were previously associated members.

The companies initially received European research funding for the development of ETCS. According to estimates, UNISIG member companies invested just over a billion euros in ETCS by 2005.
