The URO Vehículos Especiales, SA (Urovesa) is a Spanish manufacturer of specialty vehicles, headquartered in Santiago de Compostela . The company was founded in 1981 by employees of the commercial vehicle manufacturer IPV from the province of Lugo and in the following years developed into an important manufacturer of all-wheel drive vehicles for civil and military use. In 1984, UROVESA won its first tender to supply the Spanish military and from then on supplied the Ejército de Tierra with all-terrain military vehicles.

The URO VAMTAC , which looks very similar to the American Humvee , has been in series production since 1998. The associated company UROMAC specializes in the manufacture of road-rail vehicles and also produces a range of dump trucks and forklifts.

Uro is the Spanish name for the aurochs .
