The USA Boxing , the American governing body of amateur boxing and both a member of the World Association AIBA and the national Olympic committees of the United States .
The USA Boxing , formerly known as the United States Amateur Boxing Federation , promotes Olympic boxing in the USA , has organized the United States national amateur boxing championships , formerly known as the United States National Championships (AAU Tournament) , since 1891 , and is headquartered in Colorado Springs, the second largest city in the US state of Colorado . The association also supports the USA Knockouts team in the World Series of Boxing
It was not until 1993 that the association officially lifted the ban on women's boxing.
