United States Bridge Federation

The United States Bridge Federation ( briefly : USBF ) is the national association for Bridge in the United States .

history

It was founded in 2001 by the American Contract Bridge League ( American Contract Bridge League ) and the Association American Bridge split. The USBF was originally formed from ACBL and ABA and now receives support for the United States International teams from the ACBL International Fund and the Junior Fund. Otherwise he pays himself from membership fees, taxes and entrance fees for the events of the USBC. In 2002, the Federation sent a team to Salt Lake City to present the sport to IOC members at an IOC meeting before the official opening of the Winter Olympics. The United States Bridge Federation is a member of the World Bridge Federation (WBF).

On January 16, 2013, George Jacobs was elected new President for a two-year period.

purpose

The United States Bridge Federation selects the US players for international competitions. He also supports the World Bridge Federation in their efforts to gain Olympic recognition for bridge. He organizes championships (open, women's tournaments, senior and junior teams) and offers training and support for the teams of the United in international competition.
