history
US Ouakam was founded in 1951 by El Hadji Moussa Diagne and has established itself in the top division of Senegalese football for many years. Today US Ouakam is one of the most renowned football teams in Senegal despite the initially limited financial and economic opportunities.
His ascent to one of the best clubs in Senegal was made difficult by many problems, for example the 1962/63 season had to be suspended and then the second division had to start again. Here US Ouakam played an outstanding season, the team won all competitive games, the immediate resurgence was secured early on. The culmination of their outstanding season was winning the cup in 1964.
The club was also able to win the cup in 1989 and 2006, and in 2011 they became champions for the first time. The club enabled many players such as B. Pape Diakhaté , Guirane N'Daw or Baye Oumar Niasse made the leap to Europe, especially to France .
