Uchechi Lopez Sunday (born September 9, 1994 in Port Harcourt , Nigeria ) is a Nigerian soccer player.

Career

Sunday began her career in 2004 with Rivers Angels in Nigeria and from 2009 played in their professional team in the country's first women's division. After she impressed at the 2010 U-20 Women's World Cup , Sunday signed a contract with FC Neunkirch in Switzerland on April 14, 2011. She convinced at the end of the season in Switzerland and was the top scorer of her team in Group 3 of the first division with 18 goals in only 8 games . In August 2011 and the end of the World Cup in Germany, she returned to the Rivers Angels .

International career

Sunday took part in the 2010 U-20 Women's World Cup in Germany for Nigeria and laid the foundation for participation with six goals in qualifying beforehand. At the final tournament, however, she only played a 22-minute game on July 21, 2010 in Bochum against Mexico. She was the youngest participant in her country to take part in the tournament in Germany at the 2011 Women's World Cup. On June 26, 2011 she came to her first international match for Nigeria as part of the World Cup. Three years later she led the Nigerian U-20s to the final, the final tournament in Canada, with three goals in 5 games in their second participation in a U-20 women's soccer world championship .
