Udo Kölsch (born September 27, 1936 in Wuppertal ; † February 2, 2019 ) was a German radio journalist.

Life

After studying economics, which he completed with a diploma, Kölsch went to Bonn, Saigon and Brussels as a correspondent for the NDR . From 1969, as head of economic and social policy in Hamburg, he was responsible for economic reporting on the radio. In 1992 he became chairman of the NDR General Staff Council, and a year later he took over the correspondents' office in Washington until he retired in 1999 .

At the University of Hamburg he gave seminars for journalism students and until 2018 could be heard on NDR Info in the "Opinion" section and read in the Hamburger Abendblatt .
