Udo Röhrig

Udo Röhrig (born June 2, 1943 in Groß Ottersleben ) is a former German handball player and trainer .

The 1.82 meter tall Röhrig played for SC Magdeburg . For the men's national handball team of the GDR , Udo Röhrig scored seven goals in five games at the 1972 Olympic Games . After his active career as a player, Röhrig worked as a handball coach. Among other things, he trained the MSV 90 Magdeburg. He is considered the "discoverer" of the later national goalkeeper Wieland Schmidt .
