Udo Stimpel (* 1. October 1956 in Bad Gottleuba ) is a former German football player in the defense . He played for FC Vorwärts Frankfurt (Oder) and BSG Energie Cottbus in the GDR league .

Career

In his youth, Stimpel played for BSG Lokomotive Pirna from 1962 to 1969 and from 1969 to 1973 for FSV Lokomotive Dresden . Then he went to the second team of SG Dynamo Dresden , where he stayed until 1977. Then Stimpel was signed by the upper division FC Vorwärts Frankfurt (Oder) . There he made his debut on the 1st matchday of the 1977/78 season when he came on on August 13, 1977 in the 3-1 defeat against FC Karl-Marx-Stadt in the 77th minute for Ralph Conrad . As if this season was his only appearance for the first team. After relegation to the second-rate GDR league and direct resurgence, Stimpel completed two more games in 1979/80 before moving to GDR league club BSG Energie Cottbus in 1980. In his first season he came on only four missions. After promotion to the league, he became a regular player in 1981/82 . In the end, he recorded 19 league games. Stimpel scored his first and only goal on December 19, 1981 against his former club FC Vorwärts Frankfurt (Oder). Cottbus lost the game 5-2. On April 17, 1982, he received a red card in the 7-2 defeat against BFC Dynamo in the 42nd minute. In the following seasons he was one of the permanent staff in the GDR league. By 1985 he had 62 more missions and four goals. In 1985/86 Stimpel was only used eight times. After promotion to the league, he was only substituted once. In 1988 he moved to BSG Motor Forst , where he ended his career in 1989.
