Udo Winand

Udo Winand (born March 2, 1943 in Vussem ) is a retired German professor of business informatics .

Winand studied economics and social sciences at the University of Cologne (graduation 1973). He also received his doctorate there in 1976.

After Winand worked as a research assistant at various universities, in 1987 he became head of the research center for information technology at the Society for Mathematics and Data Processing (GMD) mbH in Cologne.

In 1993 Winand was appointed to the chair for business informatics at the University of Kassel . His research areas are mainly in the area of ​​the effects of information technology on the information economy as well as e-learning .

Udo Winand has been retired since 4/2008.
