Ufke Cremer

Ufke Cremer (born September 30, 1887 in Timmel ; † October 16, 1958 in Norden ) was a German high school teacher and local researcher from the north.

Life

Ufke Cremer was born as the son of a teacher in Timmel, but grew up in Norden. He remained loyal to his city in the north throughout his life. He made his Abitur at the Ulrichsgymnasium, where he taught from 1918. His subjects were history, Latin and Greek. As a local researcher, most of his publications revolved around the history of the city of Norden.

In the 1920s, the focus of his research was in the archives of the Aurich State Archive . In the 1930s he edited, among other things, the volumes of the "Ostfriesenwart", the newsletter of the East Frisian homeland associations.

Cremer was a member of the landscape assembly from 1943 to 1945.
