The colony was established in 1785 as part of the Josephine colonization . German colonists of the Reformed denomination were settled there. The name “Ugartsberg” of the village, and other similar places (e.g. Ugartsthal ) go back to the name of the contemporary Austrian governor of Moravia , Alois Graf von und zu Ugarte . The Protestants belonged to the parish of Josephsberg in the Helvetic Seniorat of the Evangelical Superintendentur AB Galizien .

In 1900 the community Ugartsberg, Wypuczki had 29 houses with 222 inhabitants, of which 195 were German-speaking, 26 Ruthenian-speaking, 1 Polish-speaking, 26 Greek-Catholic, 11 Jews, 2 Roman-Catholic, 183 of other faiths.

After the end of the Polish-Ukrainian War in 1919 Ugartsberg came to Poland .
