Ugartsthal
Ugartsthal (Polish since 1939 Tespowo ) is the German name of a former village in the Kalusch Rajon in western Ukraine (eastern Galicia ). It is located in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast and is now a district of Sivka-Kaluska (Сівка-Калуська).

Geographical location
Ugartsthal is about 7 kilometers to the west of the Rajons capital Kalusch, about one kilometer north of the main town Siwka-Kaluska. In the north are Verkhnya (Верхня) and Mostyshche (Мостие), in the south the main town Sivka-Kaluska and in the west Kropywnyk (Кропивник). The Kropyvnyk River flows through the village, to the north flows the Fornyliv (Форнилів), which flows into the Kropyvnyk .

Ugartsthal was founded in Galicia in 1782 by German settlers. The settlers came from the Electoral Palatinate and neighboring Lorraine and Alsace .
In 1880 there were 62 houses with 423 inhabitants in the municipality (14 Poles, 43 Ukrainians and 366 Germans), of which 43 were Greek Catholics, 3 Roman Catholics, 365 Protestants and 12 Jews. A Protestant parish has existed since 1784, the church dates from 1788. The parish at that time had 3320 believers.
Branches: Landestreu , Nowica and Petranka. In the village there was a religious school and a community loan company (income cashier) with capital 535 złr. The name "Ugartsthal" of the village and other similar places (e.g. Ugartsberg ) go back to the name of the contemporary Austrian governor of Moravia , Alois Graf von und zu Ugarte .
The name of Ugartsthal was changed to Tespowo by the Polish administration in 1939 , the name derives from the name of the company TESP (Towarzystwo Eksploatacji Soli Potasowej), which operated salt mines nearby. At the same time, the village of Landestreu changed its name to Mazurówka . The Bredetzki register in Ugartsthal records 63 families (327 "souls" - persons). The pastorate included the following places: Ugartsthal, Landestreu, Kałusz , Neu-Dolina , Engelsberg , Horocholina , Wełdzirz , Stanisławów , Bohorodczany , Grabowiec , Sołotwina , Nowica , Petranka , Krasna .
