Ugo Amadoro

Ugo Costanzo Gregorio Amadoro (* 5. February 1908 in Luco dei Marsi , L'Aquila , † after 1977) was an Italian film director of short films and assistant director and animator .

Life

Amadoro came to Rome in 1932 and was responsible for INCOM productions until the 1950s, especially as technical director of the Instituto Luce in the field of animation, where he also directed one of the few shadow play films, Pinocchio (1930). For feature films, he gained experience as assistant director to Carlo Campogalliani and Vittorio De Sica . During the 1960s he made the special effects possible for some films and directed part of the horror film Seddok himself - in the 1940s he had already made four short films independently. His only self-directed feature film, Piume al vento from 1950, deals with an episode from the First World War. His directorial work for it was described as very reserved .
