The Uhland School is a special needs school in the Baden-Württemberg city of Tettnang in the Lake Constance district , where 76 pupils from the 1st (diagnosis class) to the 9th grade are taught today.
history
Today - together with the connected by a walkway Jahn sports hall - under monument protection standing building was planned by the then city architect Hermann Wenzler and inaugurated on October 24, 1913th Initially, it was planned for eight elementary school classes, as well as the Latin school that had existed since 1816 and the secondary school founded in 1845.
In the Baden-Württemberg monument book, the school is named as a “ characteristic example of architecture ” because it was created in the Art Nouveau era, “ but its pure expression deals with baroque elements (...) and certain structural forms ”.
Above the 35 meter wide and 18 meter deep staircase and the three-arched portal, the arched keystones show the coat of arms of the Montfort family (church flag), that of the city of Tettnang (dog) and the coat of arms of Württemberg ( stag ).
The Uhland School was named after the poet and politician Ludwig Uhland (1787–1862).

Since the school year 2005/06 the school management has been subordinate to special school rector Otto Reichert, special school vice rector is Ms. Ursel Lau.
The college consists of around fifteen teachers.
