The Clock Museum Bad Grund is a privately run clock museum in the Lower Saxon town of Bad Grund (Harz) in the district of Göttingen , which was opened in 1984. It is located at Elisabethstraße 14, in the center of the climatic health resort in the western Harz and the Harz National Park . The museum shows clocks of different construction methods and purposes from numerous countries and documents the development of clock technology from the Renaissance to the present. The collection includes around 1,600 exhibits and is considered the largest in Germany. It is also one of the largest collections of clocks in Europe and the largest private collection in the world.

It is open every day except Mondays. The clock museum Bad Grund is next to the tower clock museum Bockenem and the clock museum Bad Iburg the only clock museum in Northern Germany . The largest private clock collection in the world with over 1700 exhibits - functional clocks of all kinds - is presented on an exhibition area of ​​800 m²: small wrist and pocket watches , grandfather and cuckoo clocks and finally tower clocks weighing tons . This documents mechanical time measurement and functional design for a period of 600 years.
