Ulf Beier

Ulf Beier (born May 1, 1941 in Eger , Sudetenland) is a German author , onomastic and local researcher .

Life

Ulf Beier was born as the eldest son of the graduate engineer Ulf Beier and his wife Marianne in Eger. After the death of his mother and the expulsion of the Germans from Czechoslovakia , he was first placed in an orphanage . After the father remarried, the new family came to Munich after many stops . He passed the Abitur in 1961 and studied at the University of Education in Munich with additional exams in Protestant religion and English for teaching at elementary schools. In 1971 he passed the examination for teaching at secondary schools in German and geography and taught at the state secondary school in Weißenburg from 1971 to 2003 . Since the 1980s he has published numerous articles on names, local and local history and three books.

In 1968 he married Gisela, b. Hanfler. The family has two grown sons, one daughter died in childhood.
