Ulf Rittinghaus

Ulf Rittinghaus (born May 19, 1956 in Hemer , Westphalia ) is a German entrepreneur .

Life

In 1985 he joined the management of the family business Ernst Rittinghaus GmbH & Co. KG in Hemer im Sauerland , a foundry company. From 1989 to 1994 he was employed by Hengste + Eckardt GmbH. With his brother, he bought the former VEB Sachsenring in Zwickau, manufacturer of the (Trabant ), from the Treuhandanstalt in 1993 . The company grew from 30 million (1994) to 750 million (2001) sales. This resulted in two successful IPOs , which financially promoted growth. The workforce grew from 350 (1994) to 2500 employees in 2001. In May 2002 Rittinghaus resigned from his post. Shortly thereafter, his successors filed for bankruptcy.

In 2009 Rittinghaus was sentenced to four years imprisonment for embezzlement and balance sheet manipulation as a result of the bankruptcy delay at Sachsenring, his brother Ernst Wilhelm Rittinghaus to three years imprisonment.

From 1998 to 2010 he was also a founding partner of WMP Eurocom AG. In addition, he held positions in supervisory and advisory boards of various companies and banks.
