José Ulisses de Pina Correia e Silva (born June 4, 1962 in Praia ) is a Cape Verdean economist and politician . He is chairman of the Movimento para a Democracia party , and after it won an absolute majority in the 2016 general election , Prime Minister of the Republic of Cape Verde since April of the same year .

Life

After attending the Domingos Ramos high school in Praia, he studied economics in Lisbon . When he returned to the island of Santiago , he worked for the Banco de Cabo Verde and as a lecturer at the Jean Piaget University in Praia.

José Ulisses de Pina Correia e Silva is married and has two children.
